Challenge
Exploring the potential of AIOps
A global pharmaceutical leader wanted to explore the potential of AIOps to create a more agile, intelligent, and scalable IT infrastructure.
The company chose to work with Genpact because of our deep life sciences expertise, AI credentials, and strong partnership with AWS.
The aim was to explore how intelligent automation, cloud technology, and advanced analytics could streamline workflows, improve regulatory compliance, foster a culture of AI-first innovation, and support sustainable growth in an increasingly AI-driven world.
Solution
Modernized IT processes with AI and AWS
Collaborating with AWS, we made several operational improvements using the power of AIOps. We created:
A 24/7 IT command center: Built on AWS architecture, this central IT hub covers real-time issue monitoring, anomaly detection, and automated ticket resolution using AI-powered analytics
Automated IT processes: Using AWS Lambda, Genpact deployed automated, self-healing workflows to reduce manual tasks and mean time to repair (MTTR)
A future-ready IT helpdesk: We used the power of generative AI in Amazon Bedrock and Amazon OpenSearch to kick-start initiatives for seamless helpdesk interactions
Controls over the cloud: We improved the way the company's multicloud environment was managed, making sure to adhere to the strict compliance standards demanded by the pharmaceutical industry
Streamlined FinOps: Cloud-based finance operations (FinOps) were improved using CloudHealth and CoreStack tools for near-real-time cost insights
This integrated approach helped the company stabilize its existing cloud ecosystem while laying a strong foundation for future transformation, innovation, and growth.
Impact
Less time, fewer costs, and greater compliance
By blending Genpact and AWS expertise to realize the potential of AIOps, the company saw the following benefits:
Fewer operational bottlenecks: Automated processes and a reduced MTTR have alleviated operational bottlenecks and improved employee productivity
Cost savings: The company expects to save $5 million over five years thanks to resource rationalization and decommissioning redundant infrastructure
- Greater compliance: The proactive risk monitoring in the IT command center improves the company's adherence to the pharmaceutical compliance framework
- Innovation at scale: With AWS-powered and AI-enabled infrastructure, the company is ready to expand its infrastructure transformation
This story is just one example of how the Genpact and AWS partnership helps enterprises make the most of advanced technology and AI to survive and thrive in an ever-changing business landscape.
